A UN Export-led Poverty Reduction Program initiative near Addis Ababa, Ethiopia, assists farming families and communities to form alliances for development of export-based trade in traditional agricultural produce including the spices paprika, cumin and turmeric. With new-found income from growing international trade, small farming communities are becoming self-sufficient and less dependent on foreign aid programs.
